Continuing in our series on Halloween ornaments, EB Ornaments is proud to bring you today’s tutorial on making your very own Halloween Witch Ornament! Hang it from the branches of a tree or my favorite, from a window box with purple lights hanging around in the background! With the opaqueness of the green, she’ll look totally spooky!

Halloween Witch Ornament Instructions
Materials
clear blank round glass ornament 65mm
felt witch’s hat (doll size)
DecoArt Liquid Rainbow paint in lemon lime and leaf green
DecoArt Liquid Rainbow black leading
curly brown doll hair
black bat riboon
clear rhinestone crystals (4mm)

- Mix 4 teaspoons of lemon lime paint with 1 teaspoon of leaf green in a small bowl
- Hang the blank ornament on an ornament hanger over the bowl and coat the ornament with the paint.
- Let dry for 15mins and using a paper clip or toothpick, scrape off the excess paint from the bottom of the ornament and smooth out.
- When the green paint is dry, take the black leading and draw on spooky eyes and mouth. Use a larger dab of paint to create a 3D nose and dry face down so that gravity pulls the paint into a point. An egg carton is great for keeping the paint from smearing.
- When the paint is dry, take a thin ribbon string and string that through the ornament hanger. It needs to be long enough to poke out of the top of the witch’s hat.
- Clip off the very top or cut a slit in the top of the witch’s hat for the ribbon to poke through.
- Heat up your glue gun and around the top of the ornament apply dabs of glue. Press some of the curly doll hair into glue-gently- so you don’t glue yourself too!
- String the ribbon through the top of the witch’s hat so that you’ll have a hanger after you glue the hat to her head.
- Once you have hair around the top, apply glue to the inside of the witch’s hat where it will rest on the “witch’s head.” Press down and hold in place till the glue hardens.
- Next apply glue to the first bat on the bat ribbon and press just above the brim on the witch’s hat. Keep apply glue to bats and pressing the ribbon around for a full circle.
- Apply a very small dab of glue to the center of one of the bats and gently press in a clear rhinestone crystal. Repeat for each one of the bats.
- Now if you want to do any additional embellishing, earrings, glitter or a broomstick, add it in and you’re done!
