Japanese Kohaku Koi Ornament
These 2 variations of red and white and orange and white koi ornamentsKoi fish are bred in a variety of styles and colors, this is a representation of the “kohaku” variety. Each scale for the koi is laid on the ornament, one by one.

The fins are made by hand from netting and added to the fish with the attachment points being covered by a larger piece of scale. The eyes are gold and black and made of the same paint as the scales. Once everything is in place, the koi is covered with clear paint to seal everything together and then sprayed with a protective finish and given its hanger ribbon to complete the look.
