Japanese Koi Ornament Kindai Showa
Black, White and Orange Koi OrnamentKoi fish are bred in a variety of styles and colors and the kindai-showa is one of the prettiest and most unique. Each scale for the koi is placed on the ornament one by one. The black scales are all dotted on first with the orange and white ones laid on separately.

The fins are made by hand from netting and added to the fish with the attachment points being covered by a larger piece of scale. The eyes are gold and black and made of the same paint as the scales. Once everything is in place, the koi is covered with clear paint to seal everything together and then sprayed with a protective finish and given its hanger ribbon.
