Japanese Koi Ornament Ogon
Orange Koi OrnamentKoi fish are bred in a variety of styles and colors and the ogon is refers to a large classification of koi breeds. Each orange scale for the koi is placed on the ornament one by one.

The fins are made by hand from netting and added to the fish with the attachment points being covered by a larger piece of scale. The eyes are gold and black and made of the same paint as the scales. Once everything is in place, the koi is covered with clear paint to seal everything together and then sprayed with a protective finish and given its hanger ribbon.
